COVID-19 Preparedness Plan for OUT Mobile Escape Rooms LLC
OUT Mobile Escape Rooms is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees and customers. To ensure we have a safe and healthy workplace, we have developed the following COVID-19 Preparedness Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The owner and any contracted workers are all responsible for implementing this plan. The goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our workplaces and communities, and that requires full cooperation among the owner, contracted workers, and customers. Only through this cooperative effort can we establish and maintain the safety and health of our workers, workplaces, and clients.
OUT Mobile Escape Rooms is a sole proprietorship that hires periodic contracted workers as needed. We value our customers and are serious about their health and safety while keeping ourselves working at OUT Mobile Escape Rooms. Our COVID-19 Preparedness Plan follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines, federal OSHA standards related to COVID-19 and Executive Order 20-48, and addresses: • hygiene and respiratory etiquette; • engineering and administrative controls for social distancing; • cleaning, disinfecting, decontamination and ventilation; • prompt identification and isolation of sick persons; and • management and supervision necessary to ensure effective implementation of the plan. • protection and controls for pick-up, drop-off and delivery; • communications and instructions for customers.
Screening and policies for employees exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19
If OUT Mobile Escape Room’s owner or involved contracted workers feel any of the following symptoms in the last 2 weeks (Fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, headache, muscle aches, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell) we will either cancel and pay back any down payments in full, or send only non-afflicted persons (who have not had contact with the person showing signs). The same will apply for if the owner or contracted workers have come into contact with anyone with suspected or lab confirmed COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks.
OUT Mobile Escape Rooms has implemented the policy of canceling and staying at home when sick, when household members are sick, or when required by a health care provider to isolate or quarantine themselves or a member of their household. OUT Mobile Escape Rooms will also inform and contracted workers if they have been exposed to a person with COVID-19 while working with OUT Mobile Escape Rooms and requiring them to quarantine for the required amount of time. In addition, a policy has been implemented to protect the privacy of contracted workers’ health status and health information.
Handwashing
Basic infection prevention measures are being implemented at our workplaces at all times. Workers are instructed to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently throughout the day, but especially before and after running the escape room, prior to any mealtimes and after using the toilet. All customers and visitors to OUT Mobile Escape Rooms will be asked to wash or sanitize their hands prior to entering. Hand-sanitizer (with greater than 60% alcohol) will be brought to the event so it can be used for hand hygiene in place of soap and water, as long as hands are not visibly soiled.
Respiratory etiquette: Cover your cough or sneeze
Workers, customers and visitors are being instructed to cover their mouth and nose with their sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to avoid touching their face, in particular their mouth, nose and eyes, with their hands. They should dispose of tissues in trash receptacles and wash or sanitize their hands immediately afterward.
Social distancing
Social distancing of six feet will be implemented and maintained between workers, customers and visitors in the workplace through the following engineering and administrative controls:
· Encouraging the game to be played in a non-living space, such as a garage, or outdoors when possible, to allow for distancing and ventilation.
· Either renting the “Detained” escape room, or serving as “game master” while maintaining social distance.
· Maintaining social distance between the owner and contracted workers if/when hired, and driving separately to events.
· Maintaining distance while being directed to the setup space, discussing arrangements, accepting payment.
· Wearing a mask when coming into contact with the group and when social distance cannot be maintained momentarily.
· Encouraging groups to self-monitor for keeping gatherings limited, and focusing on family events.
· If a contracted worker is employed and they share equipment, it will be wiped with Clorox wipes or bleach between users.
· If a contracted worker is employed they will be issued a mask, gloves, disinfectant, and glasses if they cannot provide their own, and they will be instructed of their proper use before going to any events.
Cleaning, disinfection, and ventilation
Regular housekeeping practices are being implemented, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of the escape room frame, tent, props, hints, equipment, tools, and the delivery vehicle. Frequent cleaning and disinfecting will be conducted in high-touch areas, such as all props, entry door, tabletop, the card reader, and the ipad. The owner or person running the escape room is responsible for the cleaning between each room rotation, and extra time will be allotted for the task. Clorox wipes, Lysol, or a bleach mixture and paper towels will be used. If it’s found discovered that the owner, a contract worker, or participant is symptomatic or is diagnosed with COVID-19, all surfaces will be cleaned. Appropriate and effective cleaning and disinfectant supplies have been purchased and are available for use in accordance with product labels, safety data sheets and manufacturer specifications and are being used with required personal protective equipment for the product. OUT Mobile Escape Rooms is operated out of a tent, with the option of a vented roof and fan, or in an open-air “jail cell”. Therefore the maximum amount of fresh air is being brought into the workplace.
Communications and training
This COVID-19 Preparedness Plan will be communicated to contract workers if/when hired and before going to any events. Instructions will be communicated to customers and visitors about: how drop-off, pick-up, delivery operations of the on site event will be conducted to ensure social distancing between the customers and workers; required hygiene practices; and recommendations that customers and visitors use face masks when dropping off, picking up, accepting delivery participating in the event. Customers and visitors will also be asked if anyone in their group is sick (Fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, headache, muscle aches, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell) prior to setting up an escape room on site. If so, we will postpone and credit, or cancel and fully refund the event. We will do the same as above for anyone who came into contact with anyone with suspected or lab confirmed COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks.
This COVID-19 Preparedness Plan has been certified by OUT Mobile Escape Rooms owner and was posted on the website (outmobileescaperooms.com) on May 18, 2020. It will be updated as necessary.
